Children's Ministry
"Suffer little children, and forbid them not to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Matt 19:14
As a church, we invite children of all ages to be a part of the growing, thriving ministry of our church. With spaces for newborns and toddlers in our nursery and classes for preschoolers and elementary school every Sunday morning, we welcome your entire family to take part in learning and growing towards Christ as a part of our faith-community. We also offer several programs for our children, including Sunday School classes, King's Kids, and various other activities.
Teen's Ministry
"Let no man despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the believers." 1 Tim 4:12
First Baptist Church's teen ministry is designed to help middle school and high school students grow their faith, their character, and their relationships. It’s about creating a Christ-focused atmosphere where they can belong. FBC teens are welcomed and encouraged to be involved in every aspect of the church, whether it be inviting their friends or participating in activities (such as VBS, choir, sports teams), or serving in the many church ministries. They are encouraged to participate in Summer Camp and Youth activities. Teens meet on Sundays at 10:00 am and on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm for ALIVE, an exciting youth program including music, activities, and Bible study.
Adult Ministries
"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

The goal of all adult ministries at First Baptist is to help challenge participants to live out their faith while impacting others with the power and truth of the Gospel! The men and women of the church enjoy a monthly Prayer Time with other activities scattered throughout the year that help strengthen and encourage them through fellowship and service. We have several church-wide activities for the men and women. Every fifth Sunday, we have our "5th Sunday Fellowship", which is basically a potluck meal after the service.
Nursing Home Ministry
"With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding." Job 12:12
Since the residents of local Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Centers cannot attend Sunday church services, we bring church to them. Twice a month, we minister to the residents of Liberty Village through music and a Bible lesson. It is a privilege and honor to minister to these people each time.
Sunday School
Bible study is a vital part of our church. Each class starts on Sunday morning at 10:00 A.M. for all ages. A free, clean and professionally staffed nursery is available for infants and toddlers. (A check-in system is provided for each parent - please, no sick infants.) Classes currently being taught with the Bible as our textbook are the following:
- 3-5 yr. olds
- 1st -3rd grade
- 4th - 6th grade
- Teens
- Crossroads (Young Adults)
- Homebuilders (Couples)
- Harvesters (General Class)

There are always needs and opportunities to help maintain the church property--inside or outside.
Food & Hospitality
With all the different fellowships and activities, a great way to serve the Lord is to be "behind the lines" serving and helping prepare meals for people.
Music
Our music is evangelistic and alive without compromising with the current trends of worldly music. We desire to uplift our Lord with Biblically sound music that is pleasing to Him.
- There are opportunities for soloists, duets, small groups, and families to be involved.
Sports
The teens have an exciting opportunity to be involved in a sports league. The boys' basketball team and the girls' volleyball team play games and tournaments throughout the fall and winter months with other church/school teams from IL and neighboring states. The church family is encouraged to attend and cheer on our teams at home games.
